Hello and welcome to the adventures of your everyday atheist! I stand for social justice and am completely pro-equality, but I strongly disagree with the tumblr-type social justice warrior bullshit. Also, my ask box is always open. No but really, it is open to anything and everything.
For a blog with less of a point, I have a personal account: thelifeandtimesof-amanda.tumblr.com

Personally I can’t understand how a woman with any level of self respect could willingly submit to the major religions.

I don’t even think “delusional” can encompass this…
How can this not move you…
Even if you are not a Christian, even if you are an atheist who does not even believe Jesus existed, how does the story of a man who would suffer the most horrible death imaginable for YOU not make you fall to your knees. How does the story of a man who loved you before you were born despite your sinfulness not make you think twice. How does the story of Christ who gave up his life in heaven to suffer for you on earth without being asked not make you think what if?

not sure if this is legit, but it sure is interesting
Im not a pagan but I found this @ http://atheistforums.org/thread-4065.html to be very interesting and if you didn’t know, now you do. Don’t like Paganism but it’s a religion filled with plagiarism. Irony…… lol
1. Saturnalia. Saturnalia is a Pagan holiday that starts on December 17 and ends on December 25. The Christians decided they were going to make Christmas on that day, hopefully to get converts. December 25 seems like the day all messiah’s are born since a handful before and after Jesus also have this birthday. (Horus, Mithra, Krishna, etc, etc)
2. Birthday’s. Early Christians didn’t celebrate birthdays. That was a Pagan thing.
3. Christmas things. What does a pine tree sitting in your living room have to do with Jesus? Nothing. The Christians stole that idea from the Pagans. They also stole the idea of candles in the window, putting decorations on the tree, and giving presents. (Though Santa Claus isn’t a Pagan thing, the Christians stole that, too).
4. Easter things. At the beginning of spring, the Pagans would celebrate life buy coloring eggs, because eggs meant the start of a new life and a new season. And bunnies were just cute. And the Christians stole this, too.Video from the amazingatheist
The bible writers could not make up their minds…would a god love mankind, or would he hate us. So they looked around at the world, and saw that one good person could have everything life could offer, and then a little while later, for no reason whatsoever, from disease or natural disaster, be reduced to a shriveled shell of suffering…while another good person could be living a life of abject misery, and then suddenly strike it rich. So they wrote a lottery god…that both loved and hated mankind, to the very extent that they made Jesus say that not everyone that called him Lord, would go to heaven…You pays your money, and you takes your chances!
This probably shouldn’t have made me laugh… but it did.
